Feeling overwhelmed by all the NDIS cuts discussion? Come make something with us.
The recent announcements around proposed NDIS cuts have caused a lot of fear, stress, uncertainty and panic across the disability community. Even though many of the changes haven’t been fully confirmed yet, it’s understandable that people are overwhelmed by constantly seeing discussions about it all over social media and the news.
So instead of sitting alone with all of that anxiety, frustration, grief or anger, we wanted to create a space where people can come together and turn some of that energy into something creative, supportive and meaningful.
We’re holding an online Creative Solidarity Session.
This is a relaxed, supportive drop-in space for disabled people to make art, protest signs, create digitally, connect with others, or just exist alongside people who get it.
No pressure to stay the whole time. Come and go as needed. You don’t need to be “good” at art. Seriously. Stick figures have survived generations somehow.
You can join quietly, use the text chat, leave early, turn your camera off, or just listen in while creating something.
If you want to, you’ll also be able to submit your artwork to help build a collection of protest art the disability community can share online, print, and use at rallies and advocacy events.
Anything shown during the session stays private unless you choose to submit it.
